He is the author of eight books, including <i>Media Economics </i>(2015), <i>Global Creative Industries</i> (2013) and <i>The Creative Industries, Culture and Policy </i>(2012). He chaired the Australian Law Reform Commission Review of the National Media Classification Scheme in 2011-12, and has been an Executive Board member of the International Communications Association and the Australian Research Council College of Experts.
