Hopefully, this book will enlighten not only fledgling medical students, interns and residents of what the practice and art of medicine once was but sadly, what it is no longer, a personal doctor/patient relationship. For the general public, they may get a glimpse of themselves or of their loved ones in similar medical situations addressed in this book and, perhaps, they may come away with a deeper awareness that illness is not just experienced alone but shared as each one of us travels on our own individual medical journey in search of hope and healing.</p>
