Schmidt is a professor of English at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is the author of, most recently, <i>Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy</i>--which won Newbery and Printz Honors--as well as <i>First Boy</i> and <i>The Wednesday Wars</i>. Schmidt lives in a 150-year-old farmhouse in Alto, Michigan, where he is a swinger of birches and a mender of walls.</p>Henri Sorensen is a Danish artist who has illustrated over 20 books for children, including <i>I Love You As Much</i> . . ., <i>The Yellow Star: The Legend of King Christian X of Denmark</i>; and <i>Christmas in the Trenches</i>. His work can be found in The Very Best Children's Book Illustration, published by the Society of Illustrators. He lives in Risskov, Denmark, with his wife and two daughters.
