Her first novel, <i>Chemistry</i>, received the PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Fiction, <i>Ploughshares</i>' John C. Zacharis Award, and a Whiting Award. A "5 Under 35" honoree of the National Book Foundation, Weike currently lives in New York City.
