The DW Collector's Series Timekeeper ICON snare drum is a wood-inlay work of art, crafted by resident DW woodoligist John Good as a tribute to the art of drumming. This proprietary Custom Shop shell is built with 11 plies of pure North American maple at 6.5" depth for that deep maple "crack" that has never gone out of style. But the outer shell is the real gem—adorned with laser-cut exotic and dyed woods, it forms a unique clock motif. The design is bold yet tasteful, relying on the natural beauty of the wood grain. Beyond the specialty touches, this drum also has all the high-end snare hardware DW has to offer. That includes steel True Hoops, which are fully rounded to get the benefits of die-cast hoops with the strength of triple-flanged steel. The True Pitch 50 tension rods feature a fine 50 threads per inch for the most precise tuning DW has created to date. And for the snares, the combination MAG throw-off and 3P butt plate means players can toggle between three snare tension settings. All hardware is finished with a subtle Antique Bronze finish. Thanks to the subtle woodwork and high-end construction, the Timekeeper ICON snare is a highly playable work of art.
