She studied Theatre at the Broadcast Art Academy and she has worked at the creative team of two theatres: 'Théâtre des Quatre Mains' and 'Théâtre Loyal du Trac'. She has a master's degree 'Psychology' from the Catholic University of Louvain-La-Neuve. Currently, she works as a psychologist. Since 2002 she writes and publishes children's books: fiction and non-fiction. She also works together with different youth magazines.
Chantal Peten lives in Brussels, in a cozy house with a small garden. From her desk, she can see the birds and the flowers, which often distracts her from her work. When she started her illustration studies, Chantal saw herself making animated movies in the future. Then she discovered children's books and she strayed a little ... Today, she's very happy to tell stories in images to the smallest ones and the less big ones.
