<p/><br></br><p><b> Book Synopsis </b></p></br></br>This book is the output of the International Symposium on Contemporary Aesthetics and Anthropology: Fashion Study in 2017. Theoretical issues such as aesthetic capitalism, cultural economy, aesthetic capital, and fashion are attracting the attention of the academic community. Scholars with different disciplinary backgrounds and research methods have discussed and even argued about relevant issues in this conference. This symposium will promote the study of fashion and contemporary aesthetics.<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br><b>Jie Wang</b> is Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of Ministry of Education PRC; Professor of College of Media and International Culture, Zhejiang University; Vice-president of China Aesthetics Society; Vice-president of China Society of Anthropology of Arts; Vice-director of Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Zhejiang University; Director of the Center for Contemporary Marxist Aesthetics; Chair of Professor Committee of the School of Media and International Cultures; Chief Editor of Research on Marxist Aesthetics. <b>Petra Leutner</b> is Professor of fashion theory and aesthetics at the Department of Design, Campus Hamburg, University Fresenius, University of Applied Sciences Germany. She heads the Fashion section of the German Society for Semiotics and is the author of numerous publications on her research interests in the field of aesthetics, fashion theory, perception theory, poésie pure, semiotics, visual culture, and gender studies. <b>Ching Lin Pang</b> is a professor in the Department of Applied Linguistics and Translation, Translation, Interpreting, and Intercultural Studies (TriCs), University of Antwerp, Social and Cultural anthropology department, KU Leuven, Belgium. Her research topics include Chinese coffee culture, Fashion Studies (Belgian fashion, fashion in China, fashion education), Chinese migrants in Europe (Antwerp, Prato), transnational migration China-Africa, and the anthropology of aesthetics.
