But sometimes she doesn't always want to do what they want to do. Jill's afraid if she says "No" and doesn't go along with her friends, they won't like her anymore and won't want to play with her. So she keeps quiet and doesn't dare speak up. How Jill gains the confidence to say "No" and earn the respect of her friends at the same time is the heart of this encouraging story.

A sensitive story about empowering the child to overcome fears and express themselves honestly. For children ages 4 and up.

Every child is different--they each react to things and express themselves in many different ways. This is perfectly normal. And actually pretty great, too. Bumps & Bubbles represents all the emotions that are part and parcel of a child's life--the good and the bad, the ups and the downs. In these sensitive stories, negative emotions (bumps) are explored and addressed in such a way that they can be turned into more positive emotions (bubbles). Is your child scared, angry, or sad about something? How can a negative situation be handled so it eventually becomes a more positive experience? Bumps & Bubbles offers thoughtful, engaging stories addressing a variety of emotional experiences, all with supplemental information and helpful tips from professional counselors and relief workers.

Review Quotes

A sensitive story about empowering a child to overcome fears and express themselves honestly. - Minnesota Parent
Will help your child realize the importance of when and how to say the word, no ... a wonderful book. -- Children's and Teen Book Connection

About the Author

Ilona Lammertink (1957, Hengelo, Overijssel) has always aimed her career at children's weal and woe.
