Having read about inventors and the need to get a patent, my 8 year old granddaughter raised her hand excitedly saying she knew. She told what it was and explained she had learned about patents from the inventor's book her grandparents had given her. Isn't that amazing? We were so proud of her. </p> <p>This is a great book for all ages. As an adult I learned about Thomas Jennings being the first African American to get a U.S. patent. The content of this book is excellent an very educational. The illustrations are so real they jump off the page. I would recommend this book to all ages. I look forward to reading more educational books from this new author (Akura Marshall). You have a great future as a writer!</p> <p>I love how authentic this book is on African American history and explains it in a way that children can understand.
