Louis knives are made in Thiers, France by 13th generation knife maker Tarrerias-Bonjean, and illustrate a desire to create a line of high-end kitchen knives that remain user-friendly, low-maintenance and perfectly suited for everyday use. Ideal for slicing meat, vegetables, herbs, and more, this set features full-tang blades made of Nitrox high carbon stainless steel that is free of the common issues found in premium cutlery such as rust, brittleness, and difficulty in re-sharpening. With 16% chromium and carbon content of 0.35%, these blades allow for easy re-sharpening and offer outstanding toughness against chipping and cracking under stress or impact. At the same time, the walnut wood handles provide a comfortable, ergonomic grip. Louis blades are fitted with a double-sided flat grind, tapering down from the spine to the edge in a flat, linear slope. This ensures a crisp cutting edge, which produces exact and delicate cuts.
