Book Synopsis

Italian-born, Los Angeles-based photographer Guido Argentini (born 1966) is best known for his erotic photographs of female nudes, having published several books on this subject. In his latest volume, Eros, Argentini broadens the scope of his idea of eroticism in photography, presenting a series of diptychs that combine oneiric images of women, with landscapes and still life: a woman's vibrant blue eyes rhyming with the blue of the sky; a woman's red dress echoing the red velvet seats in an old Italian theater. The result is a series of suggestive images imbued with emotion and narrative. Traveling from antique palaces in Italy to Tokyo's urban landscapes and the deserts of Arizona, viewers are invited to imagine their own narratives.
