Having been focussing on science and technical books for decades, I have been looking forward to reading something creative. I've been sadly disappointed by the mix of Booker winning, Nobel prize winning and best selling (over a hundred million sold) authors that frankly bored the pants off me but was saved by 'Louisiana Blood'. Perhaps we should nominate Mr Donald for one of these prizes? The book was truly enjoyable to read and combines great imagination with a fresh and lean writing style.

I hope I get to 'Louisiana Blood' on the screen before 'Bruges Blood' is published and look forward to both.

One person found this helpful

Helpful

Comment Report abuse

Lorraine S.

5.0 out of 5 starsHistorical fiction at breakneck speed!

24 August 2018

Format: Paperback

Louisiana Blood mixes genres in a truly original manner. One moment you're plunged into the grimy world of Jack the Rippers London streets, the next you're running for your life through burning swamps. It's a thriller, and a love story spanning two continents and time frames. The characters are beautifully fleshed out and you are immediately invested in them and rooting for them to bring down the evil Governor who, along with his ancestors lie at the heart of the Ripper conspiracy. A great read that draws you in and never lets go!

Helpful
