About the Book

This book is a brutally honest depiction of what drug addiction can do to a persons life. Brandon Lee is an Emmy Award winning journalist who shares openly about being sexually abused as a child and how that abuse led him down a dark path of sex & drug addiction. This book will hopefully help people who are suffering from addiction.

Book Synopsis

Author Brandon Lee is a two-time Emmy winning journalist for his reporting on the opioid crisis. The irony is that Brandon was also a drug addict. Brandon's trauma, however, started as a child when he was sexually abused by his piano teacher and youth soccer coach. The tragedy is that Brandon held it inside because of shame and fear. It wasn't until the age of 37 when Brandon was reporting on a story about sex assault in the #MeToo era when he finally got the courage to break his silence about being a sex victim and how that trauma led him down a dark path of sex and drug addiction.
At age 16, Brandon was snorting cocaine, getting high off whippets, and drinking to blackouts all while attending Catholic school. The drug abuse got worse as Brandon got older. He would attend raves and circuit parties to get high. His drug addiction fueled his sex addiction. Brandon eventually created a double life. One as a professional news anchor. The other as a strung out druggie in the slums of Los Angeles. He describes the moment he took his first hit off the crack pipe. He felt invincible. Unstoppable. He describes it as breathing in the Devil. After nearly dying in a coma after an overdose, Brandon sought out a 12-Step program and has been sober ever since 2-22-2010. His story breaks every stereotype people have of a drug addict.
Brandon's mission is to give other addicts hope that they can build a new life they never thought possible.

Review Quotes

"I have followed Brandon In Atlanta and Phoenix. I had no idea he had been an addict. I've been through the same things with my daughter who is now 35. She was hospitalized twice, extensive aftercare, anything a therapist or doctor recommended I did. I wish I had read this book sooner because Brandon tells it like it is and helps people!" - Mary Crane, Atlanta

"Brandon is an amazing human being. I'm blown away by your story. This book is motivational and inspirational! Keep changing lives, Brandon!" - Leah Alexander

"I read Brandon's book and I felt overwhelmed with emotion as Brandon detailed his sex abuse when he was a child. It's so rare that people open their soul like he has. I'm blown away by his story and his storytelling. I don't have personal experience with drug addiction or abuse, but his story reminded me how important is is to live honestly and authentically. Kudos!" - Jeff Cregar

"I have been a fan of Brandon's for years. I never knew about his struggle with addiction. While I am fortunate enough to not have gone through the struggles that Brandon has gone through (although there were parts of his story I could relate to), I think anyone can/will learn a lot from reading this book. If nothing else, empathy." - Jeff Ford
