His study of Hebrew, scripture, and kabbalah with an Ethiopian rabbi led to his development of a philosophy of mental creativity. Although often associated with the New Thought movement, Goddard claimed no affiliation with any group. A popular speaker on metaphysical themes, he wrote ten inspirational books and appeared frequently on television and radio.
