His landmark plays include<i>The Threepenny Opera </i>and, while exiled from Germany and living in the USA, such masterpieces as <i>The Life of Galileo</i>, <i>Mother Cou</i>r<i>age</i> and <i>The Caucasian Chalk Circle</i>. <p/><b>Marc Silberman</b> is Professor of German at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA, and co-editor of <i>Brecht on Theatre</i> and <i>Brecht on Performance</i>.</p>
