Book Synopsis

In My Affair with the Other Man, author Reverend Bettie Ann Davis-Thomas Tolefree shares her powerful and passionate journey in Christianity, focusing on the love story she has shared with her Creator. From childhood and first love to marriage and ministry, Tolefree's memoir of a life lived with Christ reveals one woman's pathway to discovering her treasure, her heart, and her true calling. A faithful wife and loving mother, Tolefree realized there was an even greater love awaiting her, encouraging her to walk toward a future dedicated to this "other man" and leading others to Him as well. From finding the attractiveness of God within The African Methodist Episcopal Church, it would take Tolefree almost fifty years to come to know this "other man" fully. That "other man" is Jesus, and He swept Tolefree off her feet, taking her on a majestic adventure of ministering His love to the world. With ever-evolving unexplained emotions, along with an overwhelming need to satisfy someone without knowing how or why, Tolefree felt as though clarity would come if she put her feelings and frustrations in writing. She believed that she would be able to look back on her past and understand the reasons for her tests and trials. Through weaving her memories into a tapestry of testimony found in My Affair with the Other Man, Tolefree has illustrated a clear and defined God-ordained journey that shines a light on the divine purpose of her life. It is Tolefree's prayer that her story will encourage you to find your purpose as well. If you desire to develop or strengthen your relationship with God, or if you simply wish to dive into deeper depths of God's heart, My Affair with the Other Man will inspire you to pursue the captivating love of your Savior.
