GOLDFRIED is Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at the State University of New York at Stonybrook. In addition to his teaching, clinical supervision, and research, he maintains a limited practice of psychotherapy in New York City. He is a diplomate in clinical psychology, editorial board member of professional journals, and author of several books. Dr. Goldfried is cofounder of the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration. GERALD C. DAVISON is Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California, where he was also Director of Clinical Training from 1979 to 1984 and Chair of the Department from 1984 to 1990. Among his many publications is the textbook Abnormal Psychology, coauthored with John Neale and published in 1994 in its sixth edition. His current research program focuses on the relationships between cognition and a variety of behavioral and emotional problems. In addition to his teaching and research, he is a practicing clinical psychologist.
