Our friends, family, colleagues, and personal decisions all assist us in becoming the people we see in the mirror each morning. In my case, a seizure disorder has taken me on many journeys in the past 35 years. These sojourns have allowed me to delve deeply into my soul and understand the many facets of my moral fiber and the character of those with whom I choose to surround myself. Some may see my illness as a weakness; however, I view it as an incredible strength and opportunity to educate myself and others. I have disclosed my infirmity to fewer than 10 people since I was first diagnosed over 35 years ago. The search for my identity has ended, and, just begun. I believe that I have now initiated the process to seize each and every opportunity not in spite of my illness, but because of it. As an educator, I am always struggling to think of new ways to impart knowledge to others. I wrote this book to remind myself and others of the importance of self-worth and inner strength. It is my hope that readers find strength, humor, and inspiration while reading Opportunity in Disguise.

] Hoberman, who was diagnosed with epilepsy in his teens, has not allowed it to define who he is.

] His book is aimed at teens and parents that have to navigate difficulties from illnesses, anxiety, academics and more in a tumultuous world.

] Hoberman's heart-felt recommendations and guidance come from experience and years of conflict in his own life.

] His resilience and determination are an inspiration to everyone who meets him.

Review Quotes

"Whenever a great author pens a book, the impact of those words can influence millions. Marc Hoberman's book and words will inspire positive change in the lives of others for years to come."

Eugene Napoleon,

CEO of Nap Vision Entertainment, LLC.

"I have known Marc Hoberman as a brilliant speaker and student advocate, but I never knew that he also deals with epilepsy. This book was a revelation in learning how to out-create whatever struggles we are given, and turn them into gifts. I particularly loved reading his mother's advice after his first major epileptic episode:

"About an hour later, my mother came into my room and asked me to sit down. She told me that I was a handsome, musically talented, humorous young man who was given a gift by God. One of those "gifts" would now be my epilepsy. She said that it would keep me grounded and I needed to make it a strength, as opposed to a weakness, or crutch. Years later, I now realize that such words of wisdom should not have been taken lightly.

Thank you, Marc, for your inspiration. Your Mom was a wise woman... and she raised an amazing son."

Barbara Niven-Actress,

Producer, Speaker, Media Trainer

"Plucking a book from the shelves with a well-written title, and not having a clue as what to expect, was rather surprising. Twenty-seven hundred and eighty-four miles, and a chasm between cultures divided Marc Hoberman and myself, however within a few pages he manages to skillfully breach that enormous gap.

While I had a mostly uneventful upbringing, Marc had the terrible misfortune of never knowing when a seizure would attack his body. The clock was always ticking in the background. Would he be embarrassed in front of his friends? Should he tell those close to him that he had this condition? What a terrible curse to have every waking moment of your life.

The mark of a good man is how he handles adversity. Marc not only conquered his malady, but he assisted others in understanding how a hardship can be overcome.

Hats off to Marc for an excellent and informative narrative."

Douglas B.
