Lydia Persaud is a Toronto born & raised soul artist. An alumna of the Humber jazz program, member of the O'Pears & Dwayne Gretzky, and back up vocalist for Lee Fields & the Expressions and Royal Wood, she is an accomplished vocalist and skilled songwriter. Lydia draws on her jazz chops, the sincere songwriting of Carol King, and the warm soul and social commentary of Stevie Wonder to craft her timeless and instantly infectious sound. Her debut full length album, Let Me Show You, will be among the first releases on Next Door Records, the new label imprint from Outside Music, launching January 2019. The release is a high marketing priority for the fresh brand. Lydia has been gaining accolades in the Toronto music community. The 2013 Oscar Peterson Award winner, she has been praised for her intimate songwriting and stunning vocal, while 'Low Light,' the single from her debut EP, reached top 10 on CBC Music. After being selected by Jim Cuddy for his NXNE showcase this spring, Lydia has been charming audiences around Ontario with her stunning voice and solid grooves on tour, including a support tour of Serena Ryder. 2019 will bring extensive festival appearances and album support touring for Lydia. Beginning August 2018 with the first single, Honey Child, Outside will execute a comprehensive marketing and promotional campaign with significant budget towards social media and content creation.
