Ross's ability to bring the story of Will Crump to life left me turning the pages as quick as my eyes would allow me. Will's journey across Indian Country and the people he met along the way captivated me in a way that I don't often get to experience. This storytelling came from a perspective so different from my own Shoshone culture that it allowed me to look and experience each character in a completely different light. My Shoshone people are master storytellers, and so is Michael Ross. People will always forget facts and figures about history, but they will never forget when they hear a story. This story is one of those moments. - Darren Parry, Chairman, Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation
