Months away from making a clean get-away from high school, he meets Elise, a member of the drama club. He sees her as his true soulmate, but she is forbidden.
Written in two parts, this is a coming-of-age story of growth and love. The first part of this book takes us from the earliest days of longing to the very first days of his attraction to her. Along the way we see his growth as a poet as he negotiates his way through life and love. In the second part, we see the author join Elise in her severely restricted world. They know they need to somehow stay together until she is eighteen and out of school. Can they survive her parents' restrictions?

About the Author

Born in Milwaukee, WI, Jeffrey Leister now lives in northern Illinois. He started writing poetry at the age of thirteen. In 1973, he published a very limited edition containing 37 poems called Soft Gifts And Eternity. After three attempts over 43 years at writing a conventional novel, he was suddenly inspired to tell a completely different story combining both prose and poetry. He hopes readers will appreciate it's unique form.
He continues to write the occasional poem but has yet to put together another collection.
