This workbook is a fun and engaging way to practice your math skills by relating every problem to baseball. Each activity in the book is based on real baseball situations, like batting averages, pitching speed and even stadium size. Use these scenarios to improve your math skills while also learning more about the game of baseball, on and off the field.
You can go straight through the book, practicing each skill, or you can go to a specific chapter you need more practice with. Each chapter focuses on a different math skill:
- Numbers in Base Ten
- Operations and Algebraic Thinking
- Number and Operations in Fractions
- Measurement and Data
- Geometry

About the Author

Erin Highling is an elementary education teacher. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education K-6 and she also holds a Masters degree in Reading Specialization from Hood College. She has taught 4th and 5th grade students for almost 10 years and enjoys watching them grow and learn, especially in the areas of math and reading. Erin has grown up around baseball her entire life. With two older brothers and a dad who played, she developed a love of the game early on. She became a baseball manager in high school, where she met her husband, a college player and now high school coach. Her life is centered around the game, and she hopes to use baseball as a means to help students learn math in a fun and engaging, real world way.
