As a writer, commissioned to pen a serial about convict life, he produced this masterwork. Republished as a novel in 1874, his epic tale of crime and punishment was distributed in Britain, USA, Germany and elsewhere. He died aged 35. <p/>Rohan Wilson: Author of two novels: <i>The Roving Party</i> (2011), which won the NSW Premier's Literary Award and a Tasmanian Literary Prize; and <i>To Name Those Lost</i> (2014), which won a Victorian Premier's Literary Award and an Adelaide Festival Award. He grew up in Tasmania and lives in Queensland.
