This has included the complete clearance of several new aircraft designs, as well as testing every major component of an aircraft. He has taught, and continues to teach, this subject at several UK universities as well as having managed several aeronautical research facilities. Professor Gratton is also an experienced pilot and flight test engineer, having flown over 100 aeroplane types, including test flying of a number of prototype and development aircraft.</p>
