She was an art editor of <i>Ladies' Home Journal</i>, and often painted its magazine covers. She illustrated many iconic Little Golden Books, including <i>A Day at the Seashore, Heidi, </i> <i>The Night Before Christmas</i>, <i>Doctor Dan the Bandage Man, Christmas Carols, </i>and <i>Nurse Nancy</i>. </p>
