Ramon Novarro makes his final appearance as an M-G-M leading man in this sumptuous musical comedy costarring British stage legend Evelyn Laye and featuring the songs of Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein II, including the hits "The Night Is Young" and "When I Grow Too Old to Dream." Advised to sow his royal oats before his arranged marriage to a princess he barely knows, Archduke Paul (Novarro) needs a decoy if he's to continue seeing Countess Zarika (Rosalind Russell), whose family the emperor hates. Engaging ballerina Lisl Gluck (Laye) to act as a front, Paul agrees to produce her boyfriend's ballet in exchange for her loyal service. Moving into his villa, Lisl carries out her part of the bargain, while Paul soon discovers that his phony romance may not be as phony as he thinks.
