A composer and songwriter, he served as organist and director of music at a church in Savannah, Georgia. "Jingle Bells" is his most famous tune and one of the most popular songs in the world; it was the first song broadcast from space. <p/><b>Niroot Puttapipat </b>grew up in Thailand, the grandson of a Lanna princess. He has a lifelong interest in art and literature, and he most recently illustrated <i>The Night Before Christmas. </i>He lives in London.
