The low-budget wonder MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 launched in 1988 with a simple premise: one man--series creator Joel Hodgson--is forced (as part of an evil scientist's experiment) to watch the worst movies ever made. Marooned in space with only his makeshift robot pals, Joel gets through the cheesy flicks by making a mockery of them; during the show's 11-year run, his brand of peanut-gallery commentary became a comic art form unto itself. This 20th anniversary collection features an oral history of the program's conception and growth into a pop culture powerhouse, as well as interviews with the creative team, and four of the series' most requested episodes.
