This little-known theatrical adaptation of the infamous TITANIC story was made in Germany circa 1943. The director, Herbert Selpin, was arrested during production by the Gestapo, and was later found dead in his prison cell. The film was subsequently banned by the German censors who balked over its scenes of panic and terror. The film went on to become something of a Holy Grail for film aficionados, and can now finally be seen in all its glory.
