His many honors include the Nebula, five Hugos, four Locuses, two Ditmars, the Prometheus, and the Robert A. Heinlein Award. <p/><b>JERRY POURNELLE (1933-2017)</b> was an essayist, journalist, and science fiction author best known for his collaborations with Niven, including <i>Inferno </i> and <i>Escape from Hell</i>. Pournelle was the inaugural winner of the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. <p/><b>STEVEN BARNES</b>' first published collaboration with Niven, <i>The Locusts</i>, was nominated for a Hugo award. He has also written episodes for <i>The Outer Limits</i>, <i>Baywatch</i>, and other television shows.</p>
