He was born in Berkshire in 1926 and he served in the Royal Air Force and the British Army before working as a cameraman for BBC TV. In 2015 he was awarded the CBE for his services to children's literature. <b>Emily Sutton</b> studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and has illustrated many picture books including <i>Clara Button, Tiny: The Invisible World of Microbes, </i> and <i>The Christmas Eve Tree.</i> She has also created designs for Fortnum & Mason, Bettys Tea Rooms, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. She lives and works in York in a house full of doll's houses.
