His work focuses on China's engagement with international law and the international order and legal reform in China.</p> <p><b>Avery Goldstein</b> is the David M. Knott Professor of Global Politics and International Relations, Professor of Political Science, and Director of the Center for the Study of Contemporary China at the University of Pennsylvania.
