Kitty, Mouse, Monkey, Giraffe, Rabbit, and Dog are six very best friends. They each live in their own little home and do lots of things together. Animal Square is a place full of friendship, happiness, and caring. Come join in the fun!

Mouse is afraid often. She won't sit on the swing, because she's afraid she might fall. Climbing and playing soccer scares Mouse too. Luckily Giraffe knows what to do. He gives Mouse a daredevil-pebble, which makes Mouse very brave. She swings very high and plays soccer. She's brave enough to swim! But then Mouse notices she lost her daredevil-pebble. Now what?

A cheerful story about being brave. In Goodbye, Fish, Kitty's friends attempt to get her dead goldfish to respond. When tickling its tummy and making waves in the bowl don't work, Giraffe breaks the bad news. A proper burial is held. After Kitty faithfully waters Fish's grave, since he didn't like dirt, he liked water, a golden flower appears. Van Lindenhuizen's winning critters on spare backgrounds pose with gentle friendliness." - School Library Journal

About the Author

Judith Koppens has been an author and illustrator for many years.
