The Tactile Raised Relief Globe is a 12″ desk globe with physical earth landmass shadings. Additional features include blue ocean styling, raised relief and illumination. When illuminated the light enhances the cartographic features. You will find many features that stand out and are easier to read when illuminated. Including the exposing of some cartographic features not seen when the illumination is off, such as country color coding. A true 2 in 1 cartographic globe.<br /><br />The raised relief feature, which are small rises on the surface of the globe that denote various mountain ranges is a great addition. This globe includes a hard wood lens shaped base with a hardened plastic numbered semi-meridian indicating the number of degrees north or south of the equator a point of interest is located. Whether identifying places of travel or current events, the Tactile Raised Relief Globe makes an excellent decor piece for any home or office with clear & easy to read cartography.<br /><br />The light cord exits the globe at the attachment. This is located between the globe and meridian at the south pole. An inline switch allows you to easily turn the globe on and off.
