She is the author and illustrator of <i>Grandma's Purse</i> and has illustrated numerous children's books, including <i>Sewing Stories</i> by Barbara Herkert. Vanessa currently makes her nest in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband, daughter, and a very rambunctious cat named Stripes.
