She holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in Women's Studies and is also an acupuncturist and wedding celebrant. She has worked in the health and wellness field for over 25 years. Now semi-retired, she loves to hang out with her four amazing grandchildren and spend winters in warm climates where she can write to her heart's content with her feet in the sand. <p/>Shall We Dance is her first children's book, inspired by memories of her mother dancing in the kitchen--a tradition Deringer continues herself to this day. <p/>Deringer is also the author of a novel, If I Could Live Again, which is to be released in the summer of 2021. She is currently working on a second novel and a short story.
