Book Synopsis

Get Your Mouth Ready for a Treasury of Small Stories is a unique alphabet book that stresses beginning alphabet blends and digraphs rather than single-letter alphabet sounds. It is a unique spin on the traditional alphabet books. This book is a collection of small stories that reinforces a variety of beginning sounds with two letters working together to form one sound. These small stories are intended to capture the attention of youngsters between the ages of four and eight. This is a critical period in which reading is emerging. Hearing the blends and digraphs throughout the book is a terrific way for early readers to hear letter sounds working together. This book can be used as a resource to elementary school teachers as beginning blends and digraphs are taught and reinforced. It is the author's aspiration that these small stories be enjoyed by children of all ages.

About the Author

Kathy Rather is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.
