Haslem studied the accounts of twenty-eight individuals who have published descriptions of their visit to a world of spirits during a near-death or out-of-body experience. Haslem draws primarily from six of the most illuminating of these accounts, including <em>Return from Tomorrow</em> and <em>Embraced by the Light. </em>Haslem also draws from eight noted NDE researchers, including Dr. Raymond A.
