Haslem studied the accounts of twenty-eight individuals who have published descriptions of their visit to a world of spirits during a near-death or out-of-body experience. Haslem draws primarily from six of the most illuminating of these accounts, including <em>Return from Tomorrow</em> and <em>Embraced by the Light. </em>Haslem also draws from eight noted NDE researchers, including Dr. Raymond A. Moody Jr., author of <em>Life After Life</em> and Dr. Elisabeth K�bler-Ross, author of <em>On Death and Dying</em>.</p><p>As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the author also shares the perspective of his faith when it is applicable.</p><p><em>Going Home</em> addresses eighty-four questions, one per chapter, related to mortal life and life after death, <strong> </strong>including</p><p>What does the spirit world look like?</p><p>Will we be reunited with family and friends (and pets) when we die?</p><p>Why do some die so young?</p><p>Do we all have guardian angels?</p><p>What is the purpose of trials and hardships?</p><p>What is the purpose of life?</p><p>The corroborating experiences and perspectives quoted in <em>Going Home</em> reveal a fascinating view of life after death, offer comfort to those who have loved and lost, and give peace of mind to those close to "graduation" from mortality.</p><p> </p>
