Look no further! Creative Kids Complete Photo Guide to Sewing starts with the absolute basics about stitching, beginning with simple hand sewing, then gradually introduces skills and techniques until kids are sewing safely and confidently at a sewing machine. Founders of The Sewing Tree, Janith Bergeron and Christine Ecker will guide you and your children through creative and fun sewing projects. With over 200 photos and clear, concise instructions in language easily understood by grade-school kids, you're going to be creating crafty sewing projects with your child in no time! Each project lists the sewing skills that will be exercised in making it and projects are rated for difficulty, so kids can learn and grow as they develop dexterity and coordination. Your children will learn to sew by making simple projects and building skills by practicing the essentials, and this book provides a sound foundation for a lifetime of sewing enjoyment.

Review Quotes

Starting with hand sewing and moving up to machine stitching, the 15 projects are designed to gradually increase a young sewer's skill set. Initial projects are a needle case and a tooth fairy pillow, both made by hand. Then, as confidence builds, the final project is a poncho with a separating zipper. It's guaranteed sewing satisfaction! - The American Sewing Guild's Notions magazine

This book is simple, well organized and inspiring! The projects are fresh and fun and any non-sewing parent would enjoy teaching their child the basics of sewing while learning how to sew themselves. The instructions are clear and supported by loads of fabulous and brightly colored photos. I am so glad the authors chose to begin by teaching the basics of hand sewing as this is where it truly all begins in the world of sewing. The years of combined experience between the authors is evident in the organization of the projects and the skills they teach. Kudos to Janith and Christine! Seacoast Sewing will certainly be using this book in our kids' classes. - Jill Patsfield, Seacoast Sewing and Quilting

About the Author

Janith Bergeron and Christine Ecker founded The Sewing Tree in the spring of 2003 and enjoy teaching sewing to people of all ages and interests.
