Book Synopsis

The author Adam Goldberg strains to understand his relationship with his father. As he reviews their history during a phone conversation with him, he experiences an epiphany that illumines his vision of his dad. Rather than compounding his father's failures, Adam's enlightened awareness enables him to recognize and appreciate his father's attributes. This intuition multiplied and led to inspired observations about truths to be found in common life challenges and answers to such questions as, "What do you get out of not enjoying your work?" And, "Does it make you happy to think that way?" These expanded reflections, and an examination of the circumstances and situations that provoked them, compelled the writing of this book. The author tells us, "I quit a great job to write this book." We should all be glad that he did. BEST DAY EVER is a practical and inspirational life story that surveys signal moments in life. Together, we consider responses guaranteed to increase happiness and personal growth. Adam confirms, "We know the truth when we see it." Interestingly, BEST DAY EVER was written for both self and others. Adam's Pop, beloved step-father and "Worker Guy" in the Work chapter, observed, "Adam, this book is for you." So, together, the author and the reader grasp and gather nuggets to live a happy, balanced and productive life. "It all starts with you. No, not you, me." Author Adam Goldberg enjoyed his young life in Santa Cruz where he garnered every athletic award available. He was gifted with smooth moves and great sports sense. Many a fan looked forward to watching him perform on field and court. Adam's hopes for a professional athletic career ended at San Jose State where he experienced a severe shoulder injury, but he continued to enjoy sports passionately with friends and associates. Adam's associates become friends. Uplifting encouragement to others is Adam's true gift. Adam began selling autos. When he learned he could double his wages in the RV field, he swiftly changed positions and began what became his life-long career. He quickly became sales manager, usually supervising salesmen 10 years his senior. Wherever he worked, sales climbed, virtually doubling every year. It didn't take long for this news to spread. Job offers arrived. He was so admired and loved by his fellow workers that, when he left one position, all 22 of his sales people interviewed for the new job to go with him. Adam had a sales vision. While his career was managing recreational vehicle sales, his profession was coaching his team. He has a remarkable ability to inspire and encourage others. On the job, the sales personnel motivate and support one another as they greet their customers with true personal interest. Here is what Adam says about Leadership - one of the very interesting chapters in Best Day Ever: The Leader has an innate ability to see what needs to be done and a spiritual quality that rouses others to see what they see and want to go with their vision. Adam took timeout from his work to write this book. When finished, he returned to the motorhome business where he is employed by McMahon's Motor Home Dealership in Palm Springs, California. Adam, his wife Tara and daughter Bazil live in Rancho Mirage, California.
