Programs and services offered by Way Finders are aimed at helping people before they fall, and in giving a hand up to those who do. We operate several shelters and, in a typical year, serve thousands of adults and even more children who need safe, decent homes while they are getting back on their feet. Way Finders builds and manages affordable housing so seniors and families on fixed, limited incomes can afford to have a place of their own. We offer classes in job readiness and financial education to give people the tools they need to become self-reliant and independent. Way Finders helps homeowners facing the crisis of foreclosure through counseling and education; we save homes whenever possible, benefiting everyone who lives and works in our service area. Through community leadership training, Way Finders helps to empower residents to have a voice and effect positive change in their neighborhoods. There is still so much to be done. H. John Fisher is a recognized expert on Massachusetts landlord/tenant law and fair housing issues. He has bought, sold, and managed rental properties for more than 40 years, giving him a unique, hands-on familiarity with the requirements and obligations of being a landlord. John has drawn on his own experience and the experiences of the many landlords he has taught and counseled over the years to create a clear yet comprehensive guide to the day-to-day requirements for successfully owning and/or managing a rental property in the state of Massachusetts. Now in its sixth edition - third printing, the Property Management Manual for Massachusetts Rental Owners has become the standard landlord text throughout the state. John has worked with Way Finders in many roles over the years since he was first hired in 1993. He also serves on local and national boards and is married to psychotherapist and author Sebern Fisher.
