He found his greatest joy would come not from the dog biscuits but from the people who loved to see him, and the delight children had when he seemed to come alive after they would turn the book around so he could see the pictures in the books they read to him. Every visit with people, no matter where they met him, seemed to reinforce what his true purpose was, and he was happy in the knowledge. As the years passed and the adventures increased he only became more intuitive, more confident, and more willing to serve. He is a senior citizen now, still turning heads, still enjoying life and work and putting smiles on faces of those he sees. He still jumps at the chance to put on his green vest, it is his badge of honor. He has earned it. He deserves it. He loves it still.<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br>I'm a resident of Venice Florida and live with my Australian Labradoodle, Oliver. For the past twelve years we have served the tri-county area as a Pet Therapy team. We have worked through two fine organizations and have put smiles on faces of thousands of children and adults. The work is rewarding for both of us and keeps us coming back for more. Dogs are fundamentally the best of all living creatures. They serve others with a joyful heart and a wagging tail. Their intuitions about those who need them the most are astonishing. I have been amazed so many times over not only what Oliver knows, but how he knows, and it has been a privilege for me to be his 'mother', his chauffeur, his best friend and his partner on this successful and exciting life of a Therapy Dog. Oh the stories he could tell, the people he has met, the love he has given and received in return, it has been quite an adventure. I remain extremely proud of this four legged friend of mine and am forever grateful to have shared this journey with him.
