This lavish volume recaptures the vintage cartoon's incredibly baroque details and captivating weirdness with 31 full-color pages reproduced from the original 1907 editions.<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br>One of the founding fathers of U.S. newspaper comics, Zenas Winsor McCay (1869-1934) was a staff cartoonist at <i>The New York Herald</i> when he created <i>Dream of the Rarebit Fiend, </i> which ran from 1904-11, and <i>Little Nemo in Slumberland, </i> which ran from 1905-14. McCay was also a pioneer of animation and his 1914 creation, <i>Gertie the Dinosaur, </i> was the first animated film to feature a dinosaur.
