He has helped to build and race cars, holds voluntary positions as treasurer for two car clubs and enjoys Driving Experience days. David has written several books, including <i>Ford Cars: Ford UK cars 1945-1995</i>, <i>Rootes Cars of the 1950s, 1960s & 1970s</i>; <i>Austin Cars 1948 to 1990</i>, and <i>Wolseley Cars 1948 to 1975</i>.
