He grew a tremendous variety of plants in his deanery garden and exchanged seeds with Kew and botanical gardens throughout Europe. Ellacombe's other books include<i> Shakespeare as an Angler</i> and <i>In My Vicarage Garden, and Elsewhere.</i>
