Newman earned a bachelor of arts in history from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After graduating, she enlisted in the army, served as a counterintelligence agent for the 101st Airborne Division, and deployed overseas in support of "Operation Iraqi Freedom." Tracey left the military in 2003 and now resides in Southern Nevada. Rehoboam is her second novel.
