By the early 1930s the motorhome idea had been lost to the car-pulled caravan, and only specially built units were available, but from the 1950s a new breed of commercial vehicle set the scene for the next stage in the motorhome story. Many designs and manufacturers began to emerge, and the industry continued to develop into the modern scene of today. Also featuring reminiscences from motorhome users, this illustrated book is full of detail and nostalgia.<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br>Andrew Jenkinson has published 12 books on touring caravan history and motorhome history and writes for Practical Caravan, Practical Motorhome, The Caravan Club, Scottish Caravans Motorhome magazine, Park Home and Holiday Home magazines. He has appeared on TV and radio and has gathered a vast archive stretching back to the 1920s. He also tests new and used tourers and holiday homes, belongs to two historic caravan clubs, produces caravan calendars and cards, and has a heritage caravan holiday home Facebook page. He lives in Blackpool.
