Matt Larsen: An expert graduate of the military's SERE training (Survival, Escape, Rescue), long-time trainer in survival and fighting techniques for the Army Rangers, and graduate of Jungle Survival Training in the Phillippines and Okinawa. The President of the United States Combative Arts Association, Matt Larsen started as a young Marine infantryman and then switched over to the Army serving in the 75th Ranger Regiment for over twelve years including parachuting in to Torrihos/Tacumen airfield during the invasion of Panama and Ranger operations during the Gulf War. He served as the president of the 1st and later 2nd Ranger Battalion practical shooting clubs, noncommissioned officer in charge (NCOIC) of Combatives training for the second Ranger Battalion and as the program grew the entire 75th Ranger Regiment, the Ranger Training Brigade where he authored FM 3-25.150 (Combatives), and finally for the entire Army. Since retiring from the Army in 2005, Mr. Larsen has helped rewrite the Combatives curriculum for the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center. Currently he is the Director of the Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP) and the Commandant of the U. S. Army Combatives School (USACS) at Ft. Benning Georgia.
