Her family has owned horses since she was a child, and her bookshelves were always filled with horse stories. When she isn't writing, she volunteers at a horse rescue and therapeutic riding center. She has an Appaloosa named Thor, who loves to go for trail rides in the New England woods. <p/>RUTH SANDERSON has illustrated books for children of all ages, including<i>Summer Pony, Winter Pony, </i>and <i>Hush, Little Horsie</i>. She lives with her family in Ware, Massachusetts, and her favorite hobby is horseback riding.
