Coronavirus has exposed the dangerous tenets of globalisation and the inefficacy of liberal-democratic responses. Ideas such as globalisation theory and liberal capitalism are ideological and media driven constructs to enable the elite manipulation of resources. This accumulation has resulted in the mass anomie we witness in contemporary societies and the contraction of democracy and freedom. Inequality and poverty are not incidental to the free hand of markets but ideological precepts. This anomie has resulted in a divided Homo Sapiens, driven by medias to believe in globalisation and consumerism, whilst at the same time, moving the individual away from a sense of innate purposes and rooting. Technology and medias divide, not unite. Truth has been 'forgotten', hidden and usurped, by elites, technology and medias. Media and social media have replaced subjective thought and understanding with biases, algorithmic decoupling from individuality and authentic existence. Virtue is now dependent on media whims. The book calls for a rebirth of truth and virtue and a moral teleology within the individual and the state. The Coronavirus has precipitated the death of the Enlightenment project. The book offers an alternative based on a decoupling from globalisation, a small state devolution to Westphalian principles and a change to direct democracy. For the Individual it means a rejection of the Enlightenment ideas of reason and individualism and the resolute return to family, community and authentic being.</p>
